My name is Nick.

I make things pretty.

My name is Nick Faulkner and I am a native to Southwest Michigan (bottom, left of the Mitten). I live in South Haven, which is just under a mile away from beautiful Lake Michigan. My husband and I purchased a fixer-upper cottage in the outskirts of the city on a 2-acre lot. We share our home with our 3 rescue dogs (Peggy, Penny, and Pearl), our 2 rescue cats (Dorothy and Sophia), and a few dozen chickens at various ages that my husband loves to hatch.

Since childhood, how things look and are presented have always been very important to me. I shared a bedroom with my brother growing up--my side was always pristine and redecorated on a regular basis. I would switch the placement of my desk and dresser, swap out picture frames and nicknacks, style my polyester bedding and fluff the pillows - you know - just kid stuff. My poor brother's side of the room just couldn't compete.

As I grew older, my need to create and make things look "better" became even stronger, and through the years I have fine-tuned my taste, style, and have organized my design process. There is nothing more satisfying than creating something beautiful.

A day without creating is a wasted day.

My Design Process

Man oh man, if you could just take a peek inside my head sometimes. My mind is constantly flowing with different ideas and I truly feel a need to create something every day. I absolutely love making things more pleasing to the eye--it's calming for me to do, and it's calming for me to enjoy once complete.

I am professionally trained in cosmetology and own a hair salon here in Michigan called Bombshell Beauty Lounge. I adapt many of the skills I learned in cosmetology school like color theory, creating harmony with different shapes and textures, building a structure, and I use those skills in conjunction with my "natural eye" when I'm creating interior spaces..

Beautiful, inviting spaces do not need to break the bank. Whether I'm working with a budget of a few hundred dollars, or several thousand, I love mixing different types of styles and shapes, all the while incorporating brand new items with second-hand thrifted finds steeped in character.

Maybe you already have Pinterest boards filled with endless inspo-pics, or a blank slate because you simply don't know where to begin--either way my goal is to help you tap into, and fine tune, YOUR personal style. We will discuss your space, who uses it and how, and what your wants and needs are.. From there, I will formally present plans and ideas, and together we will pick and choose what works best for you and the other members in your home.

Working with all size projects including: single rooms, entire homes, professional office spaces, and even virtual-space planning from state-to-state. Together, we can create something beautiful.
